Fetal Heartbeat?

Patient : I just found out I'm pregnant yesterday. According to my LMP I am 4 weeks pregnant although my periods have been a little irregular since I went off birth control. Out of curiosity, I tried using a fetal heart monitor. And I heard what sounds like a heartbeat. My husband said because its too early to hear the heartbeat (with our first we heard it at the doctor's at 12 weeks) he said it was my heartbeat I was hearing. Is it possible that it was my heartbeat we were hearing, or is it possible that it could be the baby if i was a few weeks farther than I determined using LMP? Thanks for all your help :)
