Foot tingle

Patient

Q: Hi. I have a weird feeling in my foot. It started several days ago. When I applied pressure to the top of my foot or when I sat on my foot, a sharp pain would shoot through my foot and make me jump up. Yesterday, I found the source of the pain. There is a small lump on the top of the foot. The pain isn't as sharp but now if I push on it a tingling, almost electric type feeling, shoots both up my foot and down toward my big toe (almost as if it is running along on a nerve). It is tender and sensitive to the touch. I'm thinking it might be a pinched nerve? But ipt has been going on for 5 or 6 days now. I have not done any exercise. I walk a lot (around my campus, to and from class). And I wore heels on Saturday for the first time in a while. Not sure if that could have done something? I haven't fallen or twisted my foot. Any ideas?
