Gential Herpes Question - Urgent Help Please (STD)

Patient

Q: Hello,

4 days ago I had sex with a high risk partner. We both showered before the encounter and used protection the entire time (the condom was intact the whole time). I did not see and visible signs of genital herpes, however, after learning it can be transmitted when symptoms are not present, I have becoming very worried. I have not experienced any symptoms (itching, redness, painful urination, etc.). I've read that the incubation period is 2-21 days. Is it likely for itching to start after 4-5 days? Do many people experience the prodome symptoms after the first week? The information available online has kept me up for the past 4 days because it makes it seems like symptoms will appear at any moment with no time frame.
