Q: I contracted gonorrhea about 3 years ago. As far as I know I was treated within 1-4 months of contracting the infection. Since then I haven't had any symptoms and have only had 1 partner. I live in constant fear that the infection has caused permanent damage and now I will be infertile. What are the chances of this and when the websites say that "untreated" gonorrhea causes infertility, how long are they meaning? How long does it usually take for an std infection to cause infertility? I've had 2-3 pap tests since then and have been re-tested to ensure it has been taken care of. My doctor has checked my ovaries and there has been no concerns. Any help you can provide would be great, thanks
