Have had low platelette counts for the past 3 CBCs
Patient :Have had low platelette counts for the past 3 CBCs and blood in urine the past 2 urine analyses. Have been supplementing with iron for 6-8 months due to fatigue, light pink gums, ridged nails. T3/4 is in higher normal range. Have also been on a sulfa antibiotic foe 1+month. Doc is referring to urologist for blood in urine. Should we be addressing the platelette count/possible anemia and not the blood in urine since that is a side effect of the thrombocytepenia? All other tests normal. 43 healthy female smoker.
