Hcg level and twin pregnancy

Patient : My hcg level was 3,943 att 4wks pregnant..could this b twins?
Doctor :   That level of B subunit HCG won’t be enough to confirm a possible twin pregnancy. The best way to rule out this possibil ility is to have an ultrasound to watch if there are 2 gestational sacs. I would suggest you to have an ultrasound within the next couple of weeks if you urge to confirm this. An experimented physician could observe this as early as 5-6 weeks. I hope I cleared your doubt.
