Healing time of Tibial Fracture

Patient: I have tibial plateau fracture with MCL sprain grade 1 and partial pattelar tendon tear also am pregnant in 34 weeksi made splint now for a monthmy doctor said i should do exercise for the quadrecipes muscle and straight leg raise while am in the splint , does this affect the fracture healing??also i made x-ray after 21 days of injury but no changes appearhow often should i do x-ray or MRI for follow up??how long does healing take ?

Doctor: Fractures of the lower limb usually take approximately 12 weeks to heal. The exercises your doctor has recommended are t o keep your muscles active so they do not weaken from lack of use while you recover from the fracture. They will not affect healing time of the fracture. There is no need to repeat any tests until completion of the twelve week period.
