Heart palpitations!

Q: I am a 31 year old female. I eat a balanced nutritious diet and exercise regularly. For the past two years I have had random heart palpitations. I went to my doctor and they did an EKG, chest X-ray, and blood work. All came back normal. Now, for the past week, I am getting more frequent palpitations. They feel like my heart stops for a second and then restarts again. They started happening while I was cooling down from exercise. Now, they happen while at rest, after eating. The past two days I have had two episodes of this on each day around the same time. Once at three in the afternoon and again at seven at night. These are more extreme feeling. They happen every other heart beat sometimes. I took my pulse and it is at 55 beats per minute. I'm pretty nervous now and don't know if I should call an ambulance. I have no dizziness, shortness of breathe, or fainting. Just very mild discomfort in chest while the flip flop is happening. And sometimes I feel the need to cough when they happen. Help?...
