Patient :Hello doc, I am 22 years male from Nepal. It has been already 3 years I am having problem with my blood pressure. Its high, usually 140-150 systolic/90-100 diastolic. So i went to see doctor. I did chest xray, urinary VMA, Renal doppler, ECG, ECHO, serum electrolytes, urea, creatinine, holter but there was no significant finding. Thus my doc prescribed me atenolol in low dose. But I am not preferring to take medicine in this early age. I am afraid of its side effects in long term. So i decided to change my lifestyle. I started practising yoga and performing daily exercise. I continued this way for a month and yes i was able to lower it to 130/80 but i couldn't be punctual so now again my pressure is 140-150. What should I do doc? What do you suggest, yoga or medicine? And if medicine, what are the long term side effects of atenolol? Waiting for ur response
