Hello, I am a 22-year-old male that has been drinking 7-8

Patient : Hello, I am a 22-year-old male that has been drinking 7-8 standard drinks mostly every night for around two years. This is a habit I wish to get out of, but is it advisable that I stop cold turkey, or seek medical attention to prevent possible withdrawals? Have I even been drinking heavily enough for long enough to have withdrawals? As a side note, I also suffer generalised anxiety disorder. Last night after approaching 48 hours without a drink, I researched withdrawal. I'm not sure if the subsequent symptoms (sweaty palms, elevated heartbeat, headache, on the precipice of panic) were a result of my anxiety or mild withdrawal. Thank you, Jacob.
