Patient : Hello, I'm worried I may have more serious of an issue than I originally thought I had with what I believe is an external hemorrhoid (I'm no expert by ANY means, just going off of what I beleived to have read, heard or seen before). I have had this "hemorrhoid" for almost a week now (Beleive I originally realized what it was on either 11/5/15 or 11/6/15). Was having issues with constipation and believe that was what caused it do due using excess force when pushing and simply put I was just trying to hard. I've had a hemorrhoid one other time in my life, when I was around 17 (27 now). The first one hurt constantly, regardless as to what I was trying to or not do. Sitting, standing, walking, etc. Remember having to leave school because I physically could not sit down. The pain was significant and as someone who has broken his neck and back I'm not exaggerating. This one is more a mild irritation/itch I get on occasion but am yet to have any actual pain or real discomfort. Only time I really "feel" it is after going to the bathroom and trying to wipe. My concern is this, I began having loose stool late Tuesday evening (11/10/15) and for the first time in I don't even know how long I went multiple times in the same day. It's pretty normal for me to have a 2-3 day gap between one another so the multiple times in a single day was bad enough. But add soft stool/mild diarrhea into the picture as well as having to wipe more because of it, I started to see small amounts of blood on the TP after wiping but didn't think much of it since I've had that happen on occasion, hemorrhoid or not. When it started on Tuesday I happened to be staying at the hospital alongside my wife who had just given birth to our second child so to say the TP in those bathrooms was "soft" or "comfortable" would be quite funny. Now today, 11/13/15, I went to the bathroom just before getting in the shower (am back on a more normal schedule with having to go around once a day and stool seems about normal as well). Again, after few wipes blood stated showing on the TP, but it was more than usual. So I showered, and towards the end after I washed my "area" back there I felt almost what I'd best compare the feeling to something similar to that of a small bug jagged cut (I use a standard hand loofa). Shortly after I noticed not a lot, but enough blood coming from my rear to show up in be apparent in the water mixture in the floor of the shower. Rinsed until seemed like it was all done, dried off, got dressed and started getting ready for bed. While brushing my teeth I started noticing an itch in my "crack" area that seemed to get worse and worse. So after I had finished with my teeth I took some TP and did a quick wipe. There was more blood than I can ever remember seeing on the TP and upon further inspection found that there was blood going down my inner thighs, up my "crack" and down towards my testicles. A noticeable amount was in the fabric of the bottom of my boxer breifs as well. I cleaned myself up and made basically a man pad to stick in that "area" so that I didn't get blood anywhere again, threw on some loose boxers and now I'm here. My question is, did I just irritate the hemorrhoid just right before showering and the water mixed with the blood made it appear to be more than what actually was/had came out or is something else going on I should worry about. Your input/response will be greatly appreciated. Like I mentioned above, my wife just had a child so not only want to make sure I'm healthy but don't want to spend hours at a DR for no reason when I could spend it with my family. Waiting for your response. Thanks in advance, Chris.
