Patient : I am a 19 year old female. Healthy up until recently. My appendix burst, while in surgery they found a softball-sized ovarian cyst on my right ovary and removed that as well. I had a drainage tube for almost two weeks after I got out of the hospital. I have been sick, like an overall feeling of illness, almost like I have some kind of infection or something since I got out of the hospital. My tonsils are swollen and underneath and behind my ears is swollen and painful. I also have recurring whitehead-like 'knots' I get that become painful until the seed-like white knot comes out, by this time they have become deep sores though, all over my skin. I have a chronic bronchial cough, which flared up from time to time as a child, but since the beginning of last winter it just will not go away. The lower portion of my back hurts, as well as horrid burning sensations throughout my lower abdomen area. It has been over a month since I had my appendectomy, why am I still sick?
