Hemochromatosis

Patient

Q: I wa diagnoses with hemochromatosis about a year ago. There is no organ damage and since I've been diagnosed I watched my diet. I'm not eating any red meat, vitamin C etc. I also donated blood. A Month ago I started feeling very tired, I'm depessed, I'm dizzy even when I'm lying down! When I wanted to donate blood they told me my iron levels are too low! I don't understand this I don't know what to do. Do I have to drink something to help me to get my iron levels up again and won't it go too high again. I'm really tired of not feeling well. When my iron levels were high I didn't feel well and now I'm also not feeling well. They did blood tests but its only my iron levels thats not right. I'm 47 year old woman and I really can't live like this I'm tired of being tired!
