Hemorrhagic Cystitis

Q: In the last 2 1/2 months, my 16 year old daughter has had 5 bouts of blood in her urine/pain & burning while urinating. The first doctor said she had hemorrhagic cystitis, gave her an antibiotic, and sent her on her way. It came back less than 2 weeks later so I took her to a gynecologist who gave her an antibiotic. She has had 3 more bouts of it, about every 2 weeks. She has an appointment with a urologist but couldn't see him for another month. Do I need to be worried about bladder cancer or something equally as bad? Her dad was just diagnosed with cancer so we are very uptight right now. Thank you for any reassurances you can give us.
