Q: Hi I am 18 years old. Last September I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I have tried NG/NJ tubes four times. I can't eat or drink independently which leads to frequent hospital visits. My weight in September was 285 and is now 182.5 I am losing weight rapidly and it's incredibly painful. All of my nurses told me that I'm a hard stick for ivs and they have all recommended a PICC line and that I try TPN. They did a test run on it for three days and it worked fine with me but my doctor refuses to give it to me, what's your opinion? Do you think I need a PICC line and TPN ? (I understand the risks and complications and know that after several months to a year I will need a tunneled catheter
