Patient :Hi. I have a been experiencing a buzz or like a spoilt radio zzz sound in my right ear for years. It doesn't really affect me so i've never seek medical advice. I'm just curious why did it happen and if i continue to leave it, is it going to be any problem?
Firstly, this sound i experience is WHEN there i'm EXPOSED to certain noises. It can vary from loud noises like construction. It does not have to be loud noises also, like normal music, but it happens also when i tilt my head in the sense that my ear towards the direction of the noise affects the loudness or the buzz sound . So i believe its how the sound wave travelling into my ear affect the buzz sound i'm hearing.
Because its not just a buzz sound i'm hearing. When i hear high pitch but soft sound like whistling, there is a sound which i can't really describe. Like slight ringing sensation or sort.
It doesn't happen when i'm not exposed to such noises or in a quiet environment. it only happens when i'm exposed to such noises and at a certain angle when i tilt my head.
I've seen alot online that relates the buzz sound to tinnitus but i believe that is not the case for me and should be damaged eardrum or something esle.
1 important factor that i think it is the cause. I had water trapped in my ear one time and i couldnt get it out. after that it had always been like that. so it should have damaged my eardrum since then but thats just my opinion because i thought eardrum would heal but i'm still experiencing it for years.
Can you please advise me on what condition i'm i having.
