Hi, I have tonsils that get swollen about once a year

Patient

Q: Hi,
I have tonsils that get swollen about once a year and I visit my family doctor and he gives me a prescription. In 2014 February my tonsils got swollen. My parents didn't take me to my family doctor cause we didn't have time. So I have been going to a public clinic. One of the doctors there gave me a different medication he also prescribed me a inhaler when I couldn't breathe. Now since February to May I have had some breathing problems and I had to use the inhale when I had gym class. I can't usually keep up with the other students like I used to. My teacher, counsellor and my mom and I went to a meeting about my health concern. They suggested she take me to the doctor but we haven't gone yet. Two days ago I got a cold I had a runny nose and a sore throat right above the passage that leads the nose and mouth down the throat. Sorry I don't know what it's called. Anyways after I've been taking medications but I feel like my tonsils are swollen again I want to cough. Today I had gym and today it was different. My chest area felt really hard to breathe it felt like a sharp point every time I took a breathe. But I took a puff of the inhaler and I felt a bit better after a minute or so. Is my tonsils causing the asthma?
