Patient :Hi, I was recently living in Southern California and having a great time. I came back to New England, and was severely beaten, having my head smashed against a concrete floor multiple times and was left on the side of the road in the middle of the night. I was then sat in an emergency room waiting area for over an hour with extreme brain swelling to the point where I felt like I was going to die. I yelled the only thing that I thought would get me help faster. I said "I'm homicidal". I wasn't, but I needed help fast and wasn't getting it. I was transferred from the er to a psych hospital where they never gave me a cat scan of my head, dispite the reported injury. I was in patient there for a month, and was given depakote for the last 2 weeks to control what they called mania. There is a lot more to this story, but I'd like to get to the point. My blood level is at roughly 75.6, and I have 4 500mg, and 4 250mg time released tablets with no immediate way of getting more. I'm a typical so-cal beach boy, that loves life and everything that goes with it, but now can't feel my feelings. How can I safely come off of this medication and get back to standard life? Thank you.
