Patient :Hi. I work in the food industry... It's been only 1.5 yrs doing so. I work 36-40 Hrs a week every week. 7-8 hrs a day. I don't usually take breaks-- I may find a moment to sit down for five minutes in a work day. Diet? Mixed between healthy and unhealthy... Try to watch portions. Drink plenty of water. I am a little overweight, and despite my lack of eats a lot of days with added exercise on days I can take it, it doesn't want to come off easily. My problem is this... After work and throughout the day, my legs are so, so tight and feel swollen. Bending down/crouching really feels like I'm stretching way more than I really am. My lower back suffers, but I assume that's from standing so much as well. My feet used to be horrible, but I bought decent shoes so it's 60% better than before. My legs though... When I sit in the vehicle after work and try to get up when I get home, it's like I can barely bend my knees to walk, and it's painful. My knees aren't really great anyway. Some days after a work day, I wake up with some of the same sensations (difficult to stand and walk). Fluid retention is something my mother and sister have suffered with... I really don't know where to go from here. I don't want to be sent home from the doctor with news like "man up, it's your problem," but I hate seeing my body go downhill like this... I was hoping for advice on what steps to take or what to try first.
