Patient :Hi. Im 21 years old and for the past 8 years I've been dealing with body odor. It's hard to describe but there are days where a musky body odor is present and other days where that scent combined with the clothes I where sprayed with Febreeze make it all worse. Over the past 2 years I've been able to reduce it somewhat by using natural deodorant products like Crystal deodorant (the rock, the roll on, and the spray). It's definitely worked to a certain extent in addition to scrubbing myself with whatever body wash that smells nice but not too strong. There have been times where I've tried showering with baking soda to see if I would be able to relieve myself of this body odor. But despite all my efforts (including taking vitamins like vitamin B and B12 to help my metabolism which I suspected was the problem), nothing has worked. I also tried changing my diet to fresh foods, vegetables and fruits for 2 years but that proved to be ineffective as well. I do practice good hygiene but I'm beginning to think the problem is internal. I'm afraid to ask my parents if they can drive me to the personal physician because they'll want to know exactly what it's for. Is there anyway I can receive some insight on this? This problem has been tormenting for what seems like almost a decade and it has greatly affected my self esteem and personal relationships. People cover their nose when I'm within their space and others discretely turn on the AC or the fan when I hop into their cars (especially over the summer). Please please please help.
