Q: Hi. I'm a 17 year old female, I've been having intestinal issues for about 3 weeks. Recently I've been having a considerable amount of blood when I use the restroom, so I generally ruled out hemorrhoids due to the amount of blood and the lack of pain/discomfort around the rectal area. I'm suspecting that I have ulcerative coloritis, since the symptoms are there, however they're quite mild. Moreso, I've been in and out of doctors offices for the past 3-6 months due to chronic tonsillitis and a tonsilladenoidectomy, so my mother is hesitant to get me into the doctors office for something she believes could be nothing. However I really feel like something is wrong and wanted to talk to someone who would at least consider my thoughts, and talk about it more to either confirm or put me at ease.
