Hi I'm a 17 year old girl My last menstrual

Patient

Q: Hi I'm a 17 year old girl. My last menstrual cycle was one of the worst and painful ones I have ever had. It was a little heavier than normal but nothing extreme. During it I had pains in my pelvic region, I'm guessing my ovaries, and also in my legs and lower back even though my back normally hurts anyway. I thought it was just bad cramps but after a few days of being off my period only the pain in my pelvis was still there off and on every other day or so. Also about one or two weeks after my cycle ended I had brown discharge for about three days. Now it has been about three weeks and I don't have any more discharge but the pains still come and go. What are these pains and why am I having them. Is it serious or normal. I am on birth control and have been for two years now. Also not really sure this even matters at all but I did have a child two years ago.
