Honeymoon cystitis - should he get tested?

Patient

Q: Hi,

I'm a female, 31, got an UTI after sex with a new partner and I'm still waiting for the lab results to see which bacteria it is. My doctor don't know the answer to this question - should my boyfriend get tested (urine, sperm or urethra)? I don't want to bother him if that (I suppose honeymoon cystitis) has nothing to do with him.

Thanks in advance,

J.
