How long can I wait to fix my broken nose?

Patient: I have a broken nose and was referred to an ENT specialist by the er doctor in 3 to 5 days. Is this three to five days important and why? And when does the bone start to reattach?

Doctor: The bone begins to heal almost as soon as it is injured. The ER doctor has therefore recommended you see an ENT speciali st in a timely manner so that the appropriate treatment can be administered as delay increases the difficulty should surgical repair be required.
