Q: How long does an allergic reaction last

Doctor

A:   Hello,
Thanks for the query.

An allergic reaction can last anywhere from a few hours to many weeks. Sometimes, the person can have an allergy on and off whenever exposed to the allergen. It depends on the type of allergen and the immunity levels of the person. In case of insect bites, it may prevail for a few hours to a week if no adequate treatment is started immediately. Rashes, sneezing, redness of the eye vomiting, difficulty in breathing, pain abdomen, hives, etc are all the symptoms of an allergic reaction

Hope this helped.
Regards
