How often do I need a pelvic exam if I

Patient : If I am on the pill, is it reasonable that my primary care physician insists on annual pap smears and bilateral exams? I know that women my age are recommended to only get an exam once every three years, but she said that the pill raised my chances of cervical cancer, so I was an exception to the recommendation. I am in a monogamous relationship and have no family history of cervical, ovarian, or uterine cancer. I have also had the full course of guardasil previous to becoming sexually active.
