Patient :I am a 21 year old femAle who is not overweight and not pregnant despite the fact that my period is a month late. I started having stomach pains centralized in my upper abdomen along with shortness of breath as if someone was sitting on my chest and back pain as if some one was squeezing my lungs. I was also very nauseous and had thrown up 3 times. Also I was suffering from a distended, bloated stomach.Nothing made this pain worse or better. I called 911 and went to the hospital. My pulse was over 100 and my BP was 98/90. Upon being seen,X-rays of my chest and abdomen were taken and so was blood work. All came back normal. I was given a thick pink numbing drink and a prescription for bentyl and Prilosec and was sent home. When I came home I didn't want to eat due to food making me nauseous and my body ached as if someone had beaten my whole backside with a baseball bat. I feel better if I am bent over while walking. Whenever I walk I also get very nauseous. The bentyl provided minimal relief. I had a similar attack 4-5 years ago and received an MRI and CT scan which both revealed nothing. Blood work was done only to find a high white blood cell count. Doctors suspected it was my gallbladder to Blame. I was then sent to a gastroenterologist for more blood work and an ultrasound which both came back normal and he also suspected my gallbladder. I had an appendectomy 2 years ago and my biological mother died at 39 of an enlarged heart. I would really like to know what might be ailing me every couple of years so I can make it stop before it gets worse. Thanks!
