Patient :I am a 32 year old female. General good health. Excersize daily and eat balanced meals. For about 5 years now I have been having some pain. It was about two or three times per year but now it's every couple months. It starts as a throbbing behind one eye. Then within 24 hours it moves to an extremely intense stabbing pain in my outer ear cartilage on the same side of my head as the eye that was throbbing. 24 hours after it has moved to the ear, it moves to the back/lower part of my head. The intense stabbing pain continues for about 24 hours before going away. The stabbing pain lasts for about 1 second each time it happens and can happen anywhere from every 20 seconds to once an hour. When the stabbing pain happens my eyes shut tightly, I tense up and cannot talk. Tylenol does nothing. Alcohol does nothing. If I apply hot or cold pressure to the area it stops but only while the pressure is applied. When I remove the pressure the pains immediately start again. It has happened on the right and left side of my head (never at the same time) I have gone to 3 different Dr's but none have cared to do any testing. One looked in my eye and said it's a virus that will go away on its own. And the other 2 told me it's migraines. Please help.
