Patient: I am a type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure. I have been under a lot of stress and haven’t eating properly for about a week and a half. I had diarhea and was extremely nauseous. For the last few days I have been trying to eat but I take a couple of bites and can’t eat any more. This morning I woke up and my sugar was 3.4 and I was very nauseous. I ate a saltine but it was stuck. I then ate a two-finger Kit Kat…i just moved in and I don’t have many options yet…it raised my sugar to 6.5. I was weak and nauseous periodically throughout the day. I forced myself to eat although it was spread out from noon until 6:00 pm…it was a mini pizza. I tried to eat a hot dog on the way home but I only ate a few little bites before I felt ill. I checked my sugar and it was 5.5. I was tired so I rested for a short time and tested again and it was down to 5.0. I had a couple spoonculs of ice cream and now am having some no sugar added mandarin oranges. I am currently at 5.4. as an FYI, my sugar is usually high…two weeks ago my A1C was 8.
