Q: I am distraught. I tested positive via labs my ent ordered for allergies which were very high (ige titer) for beef, pork, milk, egg, soy, wheat, white potato, Corn and bakers yeast allergies. I've eaten these foods my entire life. the only thing i may partially agree with are eggs. about 6 ago i was itchy after eating an egg mcmuffin but i can eat mayonaise and other foods with egg in it without too much trouble. prior to that, I ate eggs all the time with no trouble. Are these type of tests reliable, or do they have a high incidence of false positive results. my follow up isn't for two weeks, And I'm afraid to eat anything. I've been in tears for 4 days now. ive only eaten rice and chicken since thursday. my doctors office is closed tomorrow. i cant wait to talk to someone. could I suddenly have an anaphylactic reaction to foods I've eaten my whole life? this is what I'm paranoid about. or should I take these results with a grain of salt and eat as I normally do. for years I've had daily diarrhea even sometimes before finishing my meal but I can't continue to feel afraid to eat. also my environmental allergies were all negative based on this blood work but in 2002 I had a bunch of positive via the skin prick. I have clinical symptoms of allergies almost year round. Please help. I'm an emotional wreck
