Patient :I am on birth control and have been for about three years. Last month, I had a miscarriage. I did not even know I was pregnant until I was having the miscarriage so I think it was very early on. I had symptoms of pregnancy before the miscarriage and even took a pregnancy test at home but it was negative. I didn't worry about it too much after that because I hadn't missed a birth control pill. The doctors confirmed it as miscarriage and watched my levels of hcg go back to 2. They told me it was a natural and compete miscarriage. This was about 3 and a half weeks ago. It happened the week of my period last month. A little over a week after this, I started getting some slight symptoms of pregnancy again. I'm experiencing headaches, occasional light stomach cramps, occasional backaches, dizziness, and mood swings. I took a test today and it was negative. I am wondering if it's possible that I got pregnant just days or maybe even a week after the miscarriage? I'm also wondering since the at home test didn't work for me last month when I was pregnant, how can I trust the results this time that say I'm not when last time it said I wasn't and I was. I'm sure advice would be to wait a couple days and test again or wait to see if my period shows up next week. I just didn't know if those symptoms could point to anything else.
