I am taking Metformin ER for insulin resistance of PCOS
Patient :I am taking Metformin ER for insulin resistance of PCOS. I also have type 1 diabetes. I've had diabetes for 20 years. I have GFR of 114 and my urinary albumin level was 3.2 ug/mL. I'm getting the runaround about metformin and kidney damage. Does metformin cause kidney damage? Should I be concerned about my kidneys becoming damaged one day from this medicine?
