I got my implant changed in my arm after 3 years

Patient

Q: I got my implant changed in my arm after 3 years, I got a new one in straight away, and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 4 days later, is there any chance I could get pregnant? I didn't have my period when I got it changed as my period is irregular!

Doctor

A:   Thank you for writing to us.

Generally since the drug from the previous implant was still running through your body, it is unlikely that you will get pregnant. To be sure, you should get a pregnancy test done 7 days after your date of periods.

Hope this helps.
