Patient :I had lower jaw surgery back in December. After having infection cut out in both sides on two different occasions, everything seemed to be going well. Recently I noticed a hard knot inside my jaw again on the right side. The surgeon wasn't able to push any infection out and decided it was scar tissue. About two weeks later I noticed a red lump inside my mouth located where the incision was made. I pushed on it, and blood came out. When my surgeon saw this, it was decided that my plates should come out as soon as possible. Does this sound like the proper plan of action to take? And what is the red knot that I'm seeing inside of my mouth? Its starting to get sore and change to a more "bumpy appearance"
