I have a question about getting my septate (or septum)

Patient : I have a question about getting my septate (or septum) hymen removed. I got it cut today but reading other people's experiences mine seems a lot more painful and I'm beginning to think my doctor had no idea what she was doing. Before she started, she used a numbing that dentists use before she put some more numbing using a shot on both the top and bottom portion of the hymen. She then cut it to remove both pieces and cauterized the wounds to stop the bleeding. She cauterized a lot of it but I've read on other people's stuff about just getting stitched. Was it wrong for her to cauterize it? Also, I thought it would help to clean it so I tried cleaning the grey area (down there is now grey and black because of it) and the skin peeled off! It's bleeding, irritated and really painful
