Patient :I have a spot on the front left portion of my tongue, this is the 4th time in 5 months it has shown up. It's about the size of a pencil eraser and it's kind of reddish, and looks like all the papillae are gone. There is no pain or discomfort of any sort . It seems to start with the little papillae feeling rough then manifests into a smooth area where the papillae around the border look somewhat irritated. It goes away each time within a week and a half. Any idea what it could be?
