I have a stess fracture called the dreaded black line

Q: I have a stess fracture called the dreaded black line and i have went to the doctor and he cleared me because the xrays looked good and there was improvement. Prior to that i was in a walking boot for three months until i saw the doctor again. But i recently went back to the doctor because, when i started back running again i started to experiment pain in my tibia again. My doctor told me that if i experience pain stop. But my coaches have been making me curious on this statement because they told me that the bone needs strengthening and its going to hurt because of the tissue development. So i want to know is it something to do with the tissue or there is another case
