Patient :I have a very unique situation. I got a mirena put in after I had my daughter who will be three in june and I have two other children. My periods have completely stopped. The nurse practitioner who put it in cut the strings too short so I can't check to be sure it's in place. I went to have it checked about a year or so ago and everything was fine. Then, about a month ago I spotted just a little. I am concerned that the mirena may have come out or shifted and now I am pregnant. I took two pregnancy tests and they came back negative. But I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. I am having off and on cramping. I am concerned about the spotting that it may have been implantation bleeding. If it was my period why would it suddenly decide to start back up after not having it for so long. I cannot go to the doctor right now because I am waiting on insurance. What should I do?
