I have an enlarged preauricular lymph node on the left

Patient

Q: I have an enlarged preauricular lymph node on the left side. I've been having episodes of sharp, shooting pain in the ear which has progressed over the last 6 months to a daily, dull ache with sharp pains on occasion. No signs of infection, no fever, middle ear is normal. History of parotid tumor and left sided brain tumor in my mother and grandmother. ENT thinks it's jaw related? I'm not convinced.

Symptoms:  Pain, tenderness
