I have been experiencing problems with my eyes,

Patient

Q: I have been experiencing problems with my eyes, Mostly my right one, for a while now. It has been around 3 or 4 weeks that I have experienced them on and off. I initially noticed flashing lights and an onset of floaters in my field of vision, but only when I would look into the sky. Now I am experiencing increasing pain in my right eye. I have been researching my symptoms and found that retinal detachment is a possibility, which left untreated will lead to loss of vision. I have had these symptoms for a long time and have not noticed any loss of vision but I need to know now if I need go to the emergency room because I don't want to go to the hospital because of a false self-diagnosis, but I don't want to wait until it is too late.
