I have post nasal drip and I don't know what

Q: I am suffering from post nasal drip. One doctor is treating it like allergies and gave me 3 medicines to take, which I have been for 4 days, and although the mucus is perhaps less sticky, it is still very bothersome and won't go away. I have never had allergies before that I know of, and since this all started with a sore throat, then sneezing, then runny nose and congestion and now post nasal drip, I wonder if I should be taking antibiotics. It has caused me to choke at work so that I left early and almost left early twice. I am thinking of quitting as I feel worse knowing I'll have to be there for hours in front of customers trying not to vomit from the mucus sitting in my throat. Can you recommend anything?
