I have recently come out of a period of inactivity

Q: I have recently come out of a period of inactivity where I lost considerable weight. I have now started working out at home. Simple things like pushups, dumbbell curls, and jumping jacks. I'm not experiencing any pain but at the end of a work out I have rather violent heart palpitations that I can feel in my chest and up my neck. They last minutes after I my breathing and the rest of me has relaxed. I'm curious if this is a normal part of getting back into shape or if it is something to worry about.
