I have reoccurring boils on my bottox with bad scarring

Patient

Q: I have reoccurring boils on my bottox with bad scarring. what do I do?

Doctor

A:   Welcome to Ask The Doctor.
We are here to help you.

The most common reason for recurrent boils is Diabetes mellitus. So, you should first of all get your blood sugar tested.
Other causes which may be responsible for recurrent boils are:
1) Medications like systemic steroids, pain killers, chemotherapy
2) Alcohol and smoking
3) Immunocompromised state like by oral steroids, AIDS, radiation therapy
4) Nutritional
5) Systemic diseases
So, get evaluated and ask your doctor to give you appropriate antibiotics like Amoxycillin for a longer duration so that any carrier state can be removed effectively.

I hope it helps.
