I have two three month old kittens with no apparent vet visits, could we fall seriously ill?

Patient

Q: Hello, I have had two kittens for three months. When I adopted them, I was told they had all their shots and were healthy and up to date. I just found out on Friday that this is not true. I am very nervous that my boyfriend and I could get a possible fatal disease from them, could this happen? We are both in good health, and there is no chance of me being pregnant.
