Patient : Hi. I am Fathimath Asila Mohamed from Maldives. I am 20 years old. (Weight 26kg) I was diagnosed with a case of Thalassemia major at the age of 9 months. On 2007 , when i was 15 i had undergone bone marrow transplantation. My serum ferritin level is very high. I have been having pain and parodit swelling below my left ear lobe. There are multiple small, well defined hypoechoic lesions spread all over the gland and gland vascularity is increased. I went to Sri Lanka (Asiri Surgical Hospital) to consult a doctor there and he gave me antibiotics for a month. When i was done with the one month the swelling started again. So the doctor recommended IV antibiotics and i have been taking them for the past 8 days. I am getting 1.2g Augmentin. There is no pain now but gland is still increased. I want to know a solution for this. And right now I am taking medicines for my growth under a Endocrinologist.
