Patient :I want to know what rare eosiniphil is. I was told my rash is an allergic reaction or a bug bite. Could be from a plant like poison oak, but my rash isn't painful or itchy and doesn't spread quickly. I haven't had any insect bites. Leukemia runs in my family and I was worried about the rash because I've been extremely tired and had headaches. I've also been having dizziness or vertigo. I had a skin biopsy done and the result was sparse superficial perivascular dermititis with rare eosiniphils and spongiosis. Few extravasated red blood cells. I have had this rash before and it took almost an entire year for it to go away. Now where the old rash is it is a freckled brown color. I don't think this is allergies since I've had this before and creams haven't worked. I was told to use the cream I was prescribed and if it doesn't clear up then to go back in in 4 days. Was this misdiagnosed? Could this be something else? I'm worried about it and the nurse I spoke with didn't want to answer my questions.
