Patient :I was diagnosed with an arachnid cyst growing of my brain stem With 7th,8th and 9th cranial nerves engaging the cyst. Is it possible for that cyst to entangle my spinal cord causing numbness and tingling in my hand and feet, pain in my neck causing me to have pain high in my necK/base of skull. The pain shoots down my neck into my higher back and down my right arm. The pain feels sharp and when it goes down into my arm, the pain feels sharp, like an electric shock, or sometimes resembles the pain of when you hit your funny bone. I will be having surgery in June or July. My question is, could this pain be connected to an arachnid cyst, being that the pain started 2 years ago and has never gone away and Last questions is How much pain and discomfort does a person go through before going to a doctor or emergency? Is it really that bad to be put on pain medication for 2 months until I have the surgery?
Thanks again for taking the time
