Patient :I wrestle for my highschool and back in September I got hurt in a practice leaving my unable to bend or straighten my leg or even walk. the pain was localized to my knee and swelled a day or two after. I saw a doctor and had an MRI which showed a lot of fluid and a bone contusion on the medial head of my femur. I went to physical therapy but continued having pain in the joint line and catching and popping. my therapist insisted I had a meniscus tear and that it was missed on the MRI but my doctor was set on it being a bone contusion. I was cleared to return to wrestling and had pain while wrestling but after j would ice it down and it would subside. the season ended in January and I had no physical activity until a week ago which while I was away left me with little to no pain. But returning to practicing had returned my knee to the same state it was before physical therapy and I know there's no reason a bone contusion should reoccur, so I'm still wondering if there's a meniscus year and if it's worth getting it looked I to again?
