I'm 29 years old No medical history except c section
Patient :I'm 29 years old. No medical history except c section. Since my mid teens I've always had issues with shin splints. I was active in sports so I never thought much about it. As I got into my mid-late 20s I noticed a lot of knee pain/burning, esp while sitting for long periods. Now every night I wake up with a pain not only in my knees but now my ankles. Also sharp stabbing pains on the top of my feet that comes and goes. I blamed weight gain, so I hit the gym and started dieting. I've lost weight. But it didn't help. I noticed if I rub my ankles, they feel bruised. Same thing in my knees. I figured going to my PCP would obviously be the right thing to do. But being so young, I didn't want to get the "you're wasting my time" look from my doc. Trust me I know that look exists, I worked in ER for 10 yrs. So it's 530am. I can't sleep cause my lower extremities feels like they've been stabbed and beat. I'm not a diabetic (that I knows of). I'm guessing seeing ortho would give me answers. But I'm not sure...I can say it's depressing me. I can't even go outside and play with my daughter. Running is my enemy.
