Increase birth control to stop Depo Provera bleeding??

Q: I had my very first Depo Provera shot almost 2 weeks ago. Everything seemed fine but I've started to bleed for the past 6 days. I did't know bleeding was a side effect when my doc suggested I go on it and he says it could end any day or it could last for months. It is extremely frustrating not knowing because I'm in a relationship and I don't want to have sex if I'm bleeding. I heard taking the pill while on depo could help stop the bleeding or taking estrogen but I'm scared to try either in case it gets worse. Please help.
